Raspberry Oat Bars

Hello everyone! How is your day going so far? This blog is going to have a lot of different, fun and healthy recipes that I hope everyone will enjoy. My mom and I love cooking and baking together and that is where I got my love of cooking. One of my favorite foods that I love making right now are raspberry oat bars. They are very easy to make and are delicious.

Here is a picture of raspberry oat bars. You don't need to be a expert baker to make them and they are fun to bake. If you are interested in making these all you need is:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cups seedless raspberry jam(any kind of raspberry jam will work, I have used different kinds and it is still good! I also don't use an exact amount of raspberry jam, it is up to you.) Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Combine brown sugar, flour, baking soda, salt and oats in a bowl then rub the butter using your hands into the bowl to create a crumbly mixture. Put some of the mixture, about 2 cups it does not have to be exact, into the greased pan and spread jam on it. Pour the rest of the crumbly mixture into the pan and press it into the jam.

That is all you have too do! But the pan in the oven from 35 to 40 minutes. Allow it to cool before cutting and you have your raspberry oat bars! I hope you guys enjoyed my first recipe! I pretty much love any kind of baked good, so this recipe is perfect for me! Whenever I go to a bakery and they have a raspberry oat bar, I'm probably going to get that!

Why I think cooking is so important!

Welcome back everyone! I hope that you guys enjoyed my last two posts. Cooking is really one of my favorite things to do so I think that this blog is an awesome way to express that. I shared with you guys one of my favorite recipes on my last post which were raspberry oat bars and I hope everyone liked it. Eating healthy is really important, so I think that is why you should try out different recipes so you can change up your diet. I think that cooking really brings people together. Whenever my whole family sits down at the table together, its always makes me feel good because even though we all have busy lives, we can still make the time to be a family. My family goes somewhere every year to meet up with my aunts and uncles and cousins and grandparents, and dinner is always a really fun time because we are all together. Especially when we all meet up at Thanksgiving, and make the turkey and mashed potatoes and other yummy foods, it makes me feel closer to the people I love. I...

Welcome to my cooking blog! I love cooking and baking and finding new recipes too try. Cooking/baking is fun and easy too do. There are millions of different recipes too make. You can make something simple like scrambled eggs or something harder. I am doing this blog because I love cooking and it seemed like a fun idea too do. I live in Des Moines, Iowa and thirteen. I have a sister and two brothers. One of my favorite cooking blogs is Pinch of Yum which is run by a former 4th grade teacher who is now a full-time blogger. She is very personal about her blogs which I like. All of her pictures are amazing and make you want too eat whatever the picture is about. All of her recipes are easy too follow and also easy to make! From chocolate chip ice cream bars to any type of ice cream you can think of, this blog has it all. Another amazing blog is Serious eats.
